I studied guitar making for three years at Carl Malmsten CTD in Stockholm. I have a journeyman certificate in guitarmaking. My skills as a craftsman was tested at the end of the third year. I was inspired in my own design with some influences from the Japanese Master Guitar maker -Masaru Kohno. The tonal aspects as well as the craftsmanship were evaluated by Rickard Rolf, Anders Eriksson, Mats Bergstrom and Ola Soderstrom. I made the highest score any student has ever made with a classical guitar. For that I was awarded the small silver medal.
During my three years at school I spent two months in Wisconsin, studying as an apprentice under supervision by guitarmaker Neil Ostberg. He taught me all about the different aspects of the making of sound and he clarified for me the relationship between construction and sound. I believe Neil is the reason I know how to control and produce the sound and playability that I proudly can offer my customers today.
